The Retail Express website currently operates from a WordPress environment. The website has been built using Visual Composer and utilises a custom theme which has caused user, management, and scalability issues.
We are in the process of redesigning the UI of the website. The current home page is approximately 90% complete. The internal pages will follow a design style, like the home page.
We are now looking to have the entire site redeveloped, implementing the new front-end design and a new backend management framework which overcomes the roadblocks we are currently facing whilst providing a simple and easy to use administrative suite.
Roadblocks to Overcome
The new site will be required to include several modular segments which allow a single element featuring on multiple pages to be edited from a single location. For example, if there is a logo board that appears on 5 different pages, and we wanted to add/remove a logo from the board, we do not want to have to go to each page and make the same edit. We want to be able to edit the logo board once and it update each of the duplicated segments across the site. o The modular sections will be provided We require complete control over all blocks of content, imagery, sections etc throughout the site. The current site is not an intuitive environment for modifying in WP Admin. We require a setup that allows a non-technical person to have complete control over the maintenance of the site, which is why we have suggested DIVI and Elementor below. Currently the website has a very poor load speed both in mobile and desktop. We are looking for a solution where load speed is drastically improved. We will be looking for a mobile load speed of at least 50 and a desktop load speed of at least 90 before we sign off; based on Google Page Insight scoring:
CURRENT PSI SCORES ATTACHED
Questions
What CMS software is best to support the website? o WordPress o WebFlow If using WordPress, what framework will be used? o DIVI o Elementor o Custom How will AMP (accelerated mobile pages), be integrated into the build? What timeframe is required to build, test, and launch the new website? What is the total cost to deliver the workload? We will need to see project examples of both AMP experience and websites built that have a PSI score of 80+ (mobile and desktop)
Considerations
To ensure no inbound links are lost, the new website must retain the existing URL structure Internal links must be adding into new page content All META (Title, Description and ALT) data must be migrated to the new website The new website must be 100% mobile compatible and device, browser, screen size compatible. o We will be looking for full mobile responsivity before signing off the completion of the new website Approximately 5, 6 layout templates that all page designs adhere too o Approximately 100 pages (without blog content) All blog content needs to be migrated
Functionality
Lead generation and contact forms throughout the site integrate directly into our Zoho CRM. It is extremely important that the new website continues to integrated with Zoho o Universal form o Conditional flow Tracking pixels from Facebook, Influ2, Tag Manager, GA, LinkedIn etc need to be implementing into the site correctly ensuring we continue to track external ad performance and continue to cookie visitors The Resource Hub page will have multimedia outlets include PDFs, videos and links to content Some pages within the site architecture are used as PPC landing pages. We will define what these pages are. However, we need to be able to select pages from the backend and set them as paid ad landing pages. When we do this, the page remains live as it is on the site, however a second version is created that has no top-level navigation so it becomes a squeeze page – can discuss further.
