Expected duration: 1 - 6 months The Full Stack Software Engineer will be developing and integrating systems that use health records to solve health problems. The system you will architect and develop will have a significant societal and health impact in the world!
You must have solid experience in Natural Language Processing (NLP), Text Mining, Machine learning (ML), Python, R and Java (preferably in the healthcare).
You are expected to:
• Conduct research regarding available and applicable COTS that can be integrated with the system • Develop state-of-the-art business intelligence, data warehousing, and information delivery solutions • Have strong experience in automated data entry tools • Design, code, perform benchmark testing, debugging and documentation of the system (an ability to write clean, well-commented code) • Have strong experience in ETL (extract, transform, load) • Write software to generate and support NLP and ML applications • Clean, classify, and process unstructured biomedical text • Transform annotated datasets for use in testing and training machine learning models • Find and implement algorithms to evaluate and optimize feature detection • Establish processes to train, evaluate, and assess viability of NLP & ML models • Investigate and research state-of-the-art NLP and ML to solve novel biomedical challenges • Have Experience designing and coding computational data structures and algorithms. • Be Proficient in the use of SQL, React or related tools for data querying and transformation • Have an ability to create programmatic solutions for database connectivity and querying. • Have experience working with large databases. • Have training or experience in statistics. • Be interested in learning new technologies • Have experience with building front end data visualization portals, data processing, messaging queues, and enterprise search engines • Have good analytical and interpersonal skills to build relationships, deliver customer-centric solutions, and manage ambiguity
It is preferred to have: • Experience with Bioinformatics or data mining tools in the field of healthcare, Genetics, Biology • Experience with Unified Medical Language System • Proficiency in Javascript, R, SAS, Stata, and Matlab/Octave is preferred. • Experience with Scala, AWS, NoSql, Statistics, big data, Apache Spark. • Experience with Java RESTful services, JavaScript, and XML; user and design documentation to support open-source products. • Experience with Agile/Scrum software development methodologies
