Our WordPress plugin and a Google extension that historically imported products, prices, and processed orders to/from the AliExpress website via data scraping is no longer functioning reliably.
Withaccess to the AliExpress API we now require an experienced developer to modify our existing solutions—updating the plugin and extension as necessary—to utilise the API for robust, secure, and scalable data integration.
Project Requirements:
API Integration:
Replace current scraping techniques with direct API calls using the AliExpress API as per their documentation.
Implement OAuth authentication to securely handle authorisation and token management.
WordPress Plugin Enhancements:
Update the plugin code to fetch product details, prices, inventory, and process orders via the AliExpress API.
Ensure seamless integration and backward compatibility with existing functionality.
Google Extension Updates:
Modify the extension to interact with the AliExpress API if applicable, ensuring it continues to meet its intended purpose.
General Requirements:
Provide comprehensive error handling, logging, and testing within a development environment.
Supply clear documentation on changes, installation, configuration, and usage.
Ensure all modifications adhere to current best practices for secure API integration and maintainability.
Candidate Requirements:
Proven experience integrating the AliExpress API or similar e-commerce APIs.
Solid background in WordPress plugin development (PHP) and proficiency in JavaScript for browser extensions.
Demonstrable expertise in implementing OAuth and secure API communication.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to deliver detailed technical documentation.
Excellent communication to ensure milestones and requirements are met throughout the project lifecycle.
Deliverables:
Updated and fully functional WordPress plugin with API integration.
Revised Google extension (if required) that utilises the AliExpress API.
Complete documentation covering installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
Post-deployment support (optional, to be discussed).
