Expected duration: 1 day or less We are looking for a reliable and creative podcast editor (audio & video) to help us produce visually and sonically clean episodes for a Dutch-spoken podcast.
We’re specifically looking for someone who understands visual storytelling, not just cutting clips.
You do not need to speak or understand Dutch, but you should be comfortable working with timestamps, subtitles, and collaborating around spoken content — especially at the beginning of our collaboration.
This project includes not only editing the full podcast episode, but also creating a short teaser and 2–4 short clips (snippets/reels/shorts) per episode. We provide clear instructions and reference materials to make the process efficient and structured.
What we will deliver to you (for each episode):
Two separate video + audio files recorded via Riverside.fm (one per speaker)
A leader/bumper video for use in teaser + main edit
Exact timestamps and subtitle files (SRT) for the teaser and all short clips
Clear examples of how we want the teaser and shorts to look and feel
A brief description of the podcast topic and tone, if needed
What we expect from you:
Edit the full episode (usually ±60 minutes):
Clean audio (no heavy mixing required, just polish and clarity)
Sync video + audio
Adjust light/color to a consistent and calm tone
Combine both camera angles in an engaging but simple way (split-screen is fine)
Create a teaser (45–90 seconds) using provided timestamps and transcript.
Add intro/outro
Make it visually attractive and emotionally engaging (based on example)
Polish audio/light
Cut 2–4 short video clips (snippets/reels/shorts) using provided timestamps, transcript, and subtitles.
Add burned-in subtitles
Format for Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, TikTok, etc.
Make them dynamic and captivating (basic motion/text animation is a plus)
Important Notes: Update – Visual editing & storytelling is key This is not just a technical job — I’m looking for someone who also understands how to visually direct a conversation.
The podcast is recorded with 2 camera angles (Riverside), one per speaker. Please don’t just show both speakers side-by-side throughout. A good editor knows when to focus on the speaker, when to show reactions, and how to pace the visuals.
Even without speaking Dutch, you can follow the rhythm of the conversation and use visual cues to switch between shots.
Also:
For teasers and reels, we use hardcoded subtitles (I provide the text + timestamps).
You’ll receive clear instructions and examples.
This is about more than editing — it’s about creating emotional connection and dynamic rhythm with basic footage.
You do not need to understand Dutch, but you should be willing to collaborate in the beginning to avoid cutting clips in the middle of a word or sentence.
All timestamps and subtitle files are provided — no guesswork needed.
We’re looking for someone proactive, who can also give input on improving workflow and efficiency.
Please include in your proposal:
Your portfolio (especially similar podcast or social media edits)
Your rate per episode (fixed or hourly)
Your estimated hours needed for:
Editing the full episode
Creating the teaser
Producing each reel/short
This helps us better understand your workflow and plan long-term.
Budget & Collaboration Options: We are open to both fixed-price and hourly-based proposals.
However, we want clarity on:
How many hours it usually takes you to edit one ±60-minute episode
How long it takes to make a teaser (45–90 sec)
How long it takes to make a reel or short (with subtitles provided)
We have many episodes in the pipeline. If the collaboration works well, this could become a recurring project (weekly or bi-weekly). We’re also open to growing the scope if you bring ideas for improving the visuals, reach or storytelling.
