I seek an experienced project manager to shepherd the development and execution of a children's book project based in London. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience managing arts or publishing projects, with a proven track record of maintaining financial oversight on complex budgets.
The children's book will involve multiple phases from development through production and distribution. In the initial phase, the project manager will work closely with me to define the scope and create a comprehensive budget spanning all envisioned aspects of bringing the book to completion. These may include items such as engaging writers and illustrators, determining printing and distribution needs, marketing costs, and more.
Once the budget is finalized, the project manager will monitor expenses rigorously throughout the life of the project to ensure costs remain on target. They will process payments to vendors and contractors, provide periodic financial reports on expenditures compared to the original budget, and recommend adjustments if needed to account for any changes in scope or unexpected expenses. Near the end, the manager will forecast potential profitability.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of project management experience, preferably within arts or publishing. Expertise with budget creation and strict financial oversight is essential. The project manager must be highly organized with strong communication and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with project management software is preferred but not mandatory. The project is London-based requiring on-site meetings on occasion. |
