We're looking for a smart, detail-oriented freelancer with AI and web automation skills to source and compile at least 2,000 up-to-date listings of both:
These should all be directly relevant to conservation, wildlife, ecology, or the environment.
You won’t be starting from scratch: we’ll provide a legacy list from 6 years ago to use as a springboard for initial research and source discovery.
Your Responsibilities: Using a combination of web scraping, automation, and AI summarisation tools, your job is to:
Identify active conservation courses offered globally by universities, NGOs, online platforms (e.g. FutureLearn, Coursera), and independent providers.
Compile the following data fields for each course into a structured Google Sheet: Course Title: Name of the course or programme Content: Summary (3–5 paragraphs max, clean and readable), using AI tools (e.g. OpenAI or Claude) to summarise course descriptions or enhance clarity. Organisation Name: Name of the course provider Address: City and country (or “Online” if fully remote) Application URL: Direct link to the course or application page Logo URL: Link to organisation logo (if available) Type: Degree (BSc, MSc, etc.), Short Course, Online Course, MOOC, etc. Contact Email: Publicly listed email address for course inquiries (if found)
Clean and validate the output: Ensure links work Avoid duplicates Ensure all text is well-formatted Maintain consistency across rows
What We’ll Provide: A Google Sheet with column headers A legacy dataset of 1,000+ outdated listings Example formatting and editorial guidance Clarification on course relevance and tagging
Ideal Freelancer Will Have: Strong Python skills and experience with web scraping (BeautifulSoup, Scrapy, Selenium) Familiarity with Google Sheets API Ability to automate or semi-automate data collection Experience with summarisation using AI tools (e.g. GPT, Claude) High attention to detail and clear communication
Scope & Delivery: Target: 2,000+ course listings Format: Google Sheet Delivery: Ideally within 2–3 weeks Milestones welcome (e.g. batches of 500)
