I'm developing a new collectible toy line called Moodies™ — a series of emotional support sprites designed to help children (and adults) understand and express their feelings. Each Moodie™ represents a specific emotion and will be sold in blind box mystery packaging.
The toys may be produced in vinyl, flocked, furry, or soft-touch finishes — so the designs should be adaptable for mixed-material formats, not just hard plastic.
I’m seeking a talented designer/illustrator to bring Moodies™ to life through:
Original character design Blind box packaging design Insert card artwork with short supportive messages Important: This project requires full transfer of commercial rights and intellectual property (IP). All work must be 100% original.
Scope of Work
1. Character Design 8 to 10 unique Moodies™ characters Each represents a specific emotional state (e.g. Joy, Sadness, Overwhelm, Anxiety, Pride, Jealousy, Numbness, Resilience) Style: Soft, cute, expressive — Kawaii, Pixar-esque, or emotionally engaging Deliverables: Front view minimum (side/back views ideal for 3D sculptors) Important: Designs should allow for future production using vinyl, plush, fur, or soft-touch textures 2. Blind Box Packaging Design Exterior design for the Moodies™ blind box Pastel, friendly aesthetic with branding space Includes age markings, barcode space, and optional rare “chaser” variant elements 3. Insert Card Design Each Moodie™ will include a square insert card Should feature the character, emotion name, and a short supportive or empowering message (I’ll provide wording) Style should align with the brand: calming, kind, expressive
Deliverables Required 8–10 full-colour, original character designs Print-ready packaging design (PDF, CMYK, dieline-friendly) Insert card design templates with 8–10 final versions All artwork in high-resolution, layered format (AI/PSD/PNG) Signed IP transfer confirmation upon project completion
Ideal Skills Character design for toys, games, animation, or kid-friendly brands Packaging design (especially blind box or product packaging) Experience designing for textured/mixed material products (flocked, plush, vinyl) Ability to deliver in both digital and print-ready formats Strong visual storytelling and branding instincts
Timeline Phase 1: Initial Moodie™ character concept within 1–2 weeks Phase 2: Full delivery within 4–5 weeks (open to milestone delivery)
Budget Please provide a quote for: Full package (character designs + packaging + insert cards) OR individual components if preferred (e.g., characters only) Let me know if you offer milestone-based payments
Legal & Ownership Terms You confirm that all artwork will be 100% original and not reused or resold All commercial and intellectual property rights will be transferred to me upon full payment A short IP transfer agreement will be signed at the start of the project You may not resell or reuse the characters, packaging, or designs without my written permission
