Operating across the UK and internationally, we have branches in London, France, and the Netherlands, with our headquarters in Birmingham. We are now entering an exciting expansion phase and are seeking an experienced Investment Broker to strategically advise and manage funds totalling £10 million, helping us to maximise returns and support our long-term growth plans.
The Role:
You will work directly with our CEO to identify, assess, and execute investment opportunities that align with our corporate strategy.
A key part of this role will be assisting us in successfully opening an IBKR (Interactive Brokers) corporate account. We currently do not have an IBKR account — a previous application was rejected — so we require someone with proven expertise who can guide us through the process and ensure approval. You will also advise us on whether IBKR is the best option, or recommend alternative low-cost, competitive trading platforms suitable for corporate trading in US stocks.
This is a high-impact position requiring strong market insight, platform knowledge, and a proven track record in delivering results for corporate clients.
Key Responsibilities:
-Corporate Account Setup: Lead the process of opening and securing approval for an IBKR company account (we do not currently have one).
-Platform Guidance: Advise on the most competitive and cost-effective trading platforms for corporate use, particularly for US stock trading, in case IBKR is not the best fit.
-Investment Strategy: Develop and implement tailored investment strategies for the company’s £10 million funds.
-Portfolio Diversification: Advise on balancing growth and security through diversification.
-Cost Transparency: Clearly explain trading costs, commission structures, and percentage-based charges to help management understand the financial implications of trading.
Reporting: Monitor performance and provide regular, data-driven reports to senior management.
-Compliance: Ensure adherence to relevant regulations and industry best practices.
Requirements:
-Proven track record as an Investment Broker, Fund Manager, or similar senior role.
-Strong experience in corporate account setup (IBKR or similar platforms).
-Demonstrated success in advising large companies with significant investment portfolios.
-Deep knowledge of global markets, US stock trading, and portfolio management.
-Strong understanding of trading costs and ability to communicate them clearly to non-specialists.
-FCA authorisation (or equivalent in relevant jurisdictions) preferred.
-High level of integrity, discretion, and communication skills.
What We’re Looking For: The ideal candidate will not only manage our investments but also act as a trusted advisor – helping us navigate platform requirements, avoid unnecessary costs, and ensure our corporate account is set up and maintained correctly. Daily guidance and support will be required in the early stages to ensure smooth operation.
