I’m preparing to launch a new local service platform and need help with the early-stage provider (supply-side) build.
This is not about scale, ads, or growth hacks. The focus is on: • credibility, • trust, • and recruiting the first small group of genuine, high-quality providers.
I’m looking for someone who understands how early marketplaces actually work — where nothing is automated yet and everything depends on signalling, judgement, and human process.
What I need help with: • Defining a credible provider onboarding approach for a brand-new platform • Identifying how to attract serious providers (and filter out noise, spam, and time-wasters) • Advising on messaging, positioning, and tone so the platform feels real and trustworthy • Designing a manual-first process for provider sign-up, approval, and early engagement • Highlighting risks such as abuse, low-quality signups, or lack of response — and how to mitigate them
What this is not: • Not paid ads • Not SEO • Not “growth hacking” • Not mass recruitment • Not automation-heavy
This is about getting the first 3–10 right providers, not 1000.
Ideal experience: • Early-stage marketplace or platform experience • Supply-side / provider onboarding experience • Comfortable working before product-market fit • Able to think operationally, not just “marketing”
