Hello, I am looking for technical support to implement a specific conditional pricing logic in Shopify + Recharge, and I would like to explain the setup clearly before discussing scope and feasibility.
Context Store: Shopify Subscription system: Recharge Business model: subscription-first (olive oil subscription) I sell olive oil products that can be purchased: • One-time • Or via subscription (Recharge selling plans) I want to offer an oil dispenser (huilier) as an upsell product.
Desired behavior (core requirement) The dispenser has two Shopify variants: • Regular (full price) • Member (preferential price for subscribers) The logic I need is: 1 If a subscription product (with a selling_plan) is present in the cart → The dispenser must automatically be proposed at the Member price. 2 If no subscription product is in the cart → The dispenser must not be proposed. 3 If a subscription is removed from the cart after the dispenser has been added → The dispenser must automatically revert to the Regular variant price. 4 The customer must never manually choose between Regular and Member pricing. No visible price selector. The logic must be automatic.
Important constraints • The solution must be robust and scalable. • It must work with Recharge’s AJAX cart behavior and re-renders. • It should not break if subscription quantities change. • The logic should be centralized and maintainable.
Additional detail The subscription is attached via selling_plan IDs. The goal is to detect the presence of at least one line item with a selling_plan in the cart. The upsell can appear either: • In the PDP • Or in the cart drawer I am open to the cleanest architectural solution.
