Expected duration: 1 - 6 months [UK candidates only please - some local environmental knowledge required]
Greetings from Northern Ireland. I am a fellow full stack developer working mainly within the .net ecosystem.
I've been working on a project over the last 12 months or so, which is now becoming too large to handle by myself due to major changes in scope and direction from the clients.
I'm looking for someone like yourself to come on board with me, if you are interested.
The project is basically an Azure Web App C#/bootstrap/js/jQuery, Azure for SQL Server and built for framework 4.8 (Webforms and NetStandard 2.0 compatible)
The client is a regional water management division.
The project itself began as a simple workflow management system for managing some fieldwork activities on Rivers, etc. It has since grown into a fully fledged set of "dashboards" (charts and maps) being fed by thousands of timeseries loggers placed in rivers, pipelines and sewers across the country. These sensors feedback around 40 different environmental parameters e.g.depth, flow, Oxygen concentrations, pH, Ammonium, Ammonia and lots more. Each Sensor logs between 5 and 120 minute intervals. I have most of this built, however, the client wishes for a few other systems to be built in short timescale e.g. inventory manager (for parts/equipment needed by field workers), Resource planning (site/location scoping, surveying, installing sensors, setting live) and many others. The list of features the client requests is continually growing due to the success of the work to date.
A bit about me: I'm an old school, self taught developer with almost 30 years experience focussed mainly on web applications. I've worked as a sole contractor since 2008 after 10+ years as senior developer roles in web agencies. I've dabbled with most popular languages however Coldfusion (CFML) and C# webforms are my core languages along with javascript. I have never managed to make the jump from .Net 4.8 to MVC or Core or 6 and I'm sure some of my methodologies you may find out of date - but they do work for my clients, which is my primary focus - keeping the client happy by delivering functionality that works for them.
Please let me know if you think you would be interested.
