We are a fast-growing media company looking to hire a talented and experienced full stack developer who can help us build and launch a news website portal. This role will be responsible for developing and maintaining the website, ensuring it is user-friendly, responsive, and optimized for performance.
The ideal candidate will have experience building news websites and creating portals for writers to publish their own articles. Additionally, the candidate should have a deep understanding of RSS feeds and other automated content sources to ensure that the website is populated with high-quality, relevant content.
Responsibilities:
Build and maintain a news website portal, ensuring it is user-friendly, responsive, and optimized for performance.
Develop and implement new features and functionality to enhance the user experience and increase website traffic.
Work with the editorial team to create a portal for writers to publish their own articles, including setting up user accounts, permissions, and content management tools.
Implement RSS feeds and other automated content sources to ensure that the website is populated with high-quality, relevant content.
Conduct regular testing and debugging to ensure that the website is functioning properly and free of errors.
Stay up-to-date with the latest web development trends, techniques, and technologies, and recommend new features and improvements to enhance the website's functionality and user experience.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience building news websites and creating portals for writers to publish their own articles.
Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP.
Experience working with content management systems, including WordPress, Drupal, or Joomla.
Knowledge of RSS feeds and other automated content sources, including API integration and customization.
Understanding of SEO best practices and how to optimize website content for search engines.
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
